Giorgi Kvirikashvili elected as Prime Minister of
Georgia as the 12th Prime Minister of Georgia after then Prime Minister
Irakli Garibashvili resigned from the post on December 29, 2015 without
explaining his decision.
The parliament of Georgia has approved the new
government by 86 votes to 28 against it. Now President Giorgi
Margvelashvili will officially ratify this decision.
Kvirikashvili, 48, became Georgia`s third prime
minister since the Georgian Dream coalition came into power in October
2012, preceded by Bidzina Ivanishvili and Irakli Garibashvili.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili is a Georgian politician who
had served as Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs since September 1,
2015. Prior to that he had served as Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister
since July 2013. He was also Minister of Economy and Sustainable
Development from October 2012 till September 2015.
