Commonwealth Games gold medallist Apurvi Chandela has bagged gold medal in Women's 10M Air Rifle event of the 59th National
Shooting Championship held at the Dr Karni Singh Range in Tughlakabad
in New Delhi. Apurvi Chandela is qualified for Women's 10 m air rifle at
the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Apurvi
Chandela who shot 207.8 in the finals, defeated Geetakshi Dixit with an
score of 1-2. Chandigarh based rifle shooter, Anjum Moudgil shot 185.7
points and bagged Bronze medal.
In the Men's 50M Rifle 3 Positions which is largely considered as one of the toughest Olympic events,
army man Chain Singh shot 452.8 in the final round and bagged gold
medal by defeating Gagan Narang who scored 451.1 points .
Other winners :
- Men’s 50-metre Rifle 3 Positions event: Chain Singh (Indian Army) won the gold medal. Gagan Narang (Air India) won the Silver medal.
- Junior men’s 25m sports pistol: Achal Pratap Singh Grewal (Gold), Gurmeet Singh (Silver), Aadeithya Johal (Bronze).
- Junior women’s 10m air rifle: Geetakshi Dixit (Gold), Prachi Pramod Gadkari (Silver) and Nupur Hagawane Patil (Bronze).
- Youth: Nupur Hagawane Patil (Gold), Ayushi Podder (Silver) and Manini Kaushik (Bronze).
